Virginia Grace Bruner

Virginia Grace Stephenson Bruner died peacefully at home on July 6, 2024 following an extended illness. She was born on February 9, 1928, to Bammer West and A.C. Stephenson, in Jackson County, Florida, where she lived most of her life.

In 1943, Virginia married Raymond Russell Bruner. They were married sixty-two years, until his death in 2005. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Clark (William); son, Robert Bruner (Ruth); granddaughters, Casey Simmons (Duncan), Lauren Williams (Rhodri); grandsons, Marshall Bruner (Katie) and David Bruner (Jesi), and nine great-grandchildren.

Family meant everything to Virginia and she will be sorely missed.

Virginia was a longtime member of Marianna First Baptist Church and the Ruth Sunday School Class, which was an important part of her life. She was a member of the Marianna Senior Women’s Club and served a term as President.

The family would like to thank Virginia’s devoted and loving caregivers, Cindy, Nicki, Florence, Ann and Larry.

Funeral services will be 1 P.M., Thursday, August 8, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Marianna with Pastor Marshall Bruner officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing. 

The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service at First Baptist Church of Marianna.
