Thomas “Tom” Alton Arnold, age 82, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at his sister’s home in Panama City, FL surrounded by his family.
Tom was born on July 25, 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Ellna and Edgar Gooding. Tom moved to Marianna, FL in 1965. He was an avid bowler and was the Secretary and Treasurer for the Marianna Bowling Association and Thursday Night Men’s League. Tom enjoyed the challenge of the game and the people he called his friends. Tom worked at Marianna Toyota, Marianna Office Supply as well as Winn-Dixie for a number of years. Tom enjoyed FSU football, riding his Harley Davidson, going to the mountains, and most of all, spending time with his family, all of whom he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Edgar Gooding; brothers in-law, Daniel Patterson, and Bob Miley.
Tom is survived by his children, Charlotte Culpan of Sneads, FL, Thomas Alton Arnold, Jr. and wife, Chris of Wewahitchka, FL, and Teresa Mayo of Dothan, AL; sisters, Sue Patterson of Panama City, FL and Ann Miley of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Christopher Edenfield, Sean Edenfield and wife, Keshia, Charla O’Bryan and wife, Darin, Heather Connell (Michael Hagan), Victoria Faust and husband, Justin, Hunter Arnold, Skylar Arnold, and Joey Arnold. Survivors also include his great grandchildren, Ashlynn, Avaree, Houston, Robert, Kimber, William, Kennedy, Kaitlyn, Bentley, Kenzlie, and Karlee as well as a very special friend whom he thought of as family, John Warren.
A memorial service will be 2 P.M., Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Reverend Roland Rabon officiating.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
Tom was provided exceptional care by Teresa Mayo, Chris Arnold, Skylar Arnold and Sue Patterson, along with the amazing staff at Emerald Coast Hospice.
