Sylvia N. Grandal

Sylvia Neel Grandal, age 86, of Marianna, FL, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at the Marianna Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Sylvia was born on November 30, 1936, to the late Bennett C. Neel and Mamie P. McCroan in Jackson County, FL. She had a love for reading as she obtained her Master's Degree in Library Sciences and was a Librarian most of her life. Sylvia took delight in giving back to her community. She often volunteered at the Jackson County Public Library where she was named "Volunteer of the Year", once before. Sylvia enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be greatly missed by those who love her. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Grandal; her parents, Bennett C. Neel and Mamie P. McCroan; and her sister, Aileen Harper. 

Sylvia is survived by her sister, Barbara Mears of Marianna, FL; niece, Jennifer and husband, Jackie Glass of Marianna, FL; and nephew, Douglas and wife, Shawn of Bay County, FL, as well as many other nieces, nephews, friends, and family. 

A Memorial Service will be held at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Gino Mayo officiating. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 1:30 P.M. until the time of service at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
