Steven "Mike" Michael Capshaw

Steven Michael Capshaw affectionately known as “Mike” age 63 of Chattahoochee, FL passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital as a result of injuries he sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Mike was born on June 3, 1957 in Chattahoochee, FL. He was a graduate of Cottondale High School class of 1975. Mike obtained his licensure as a Registered Nurse at Wallace College. He was employed at Southeast Health in Dothan, Alabama for many years, leaving there to pursue travel and agency nursing.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents Betty Sue and James Dawson Capshaw, Sr., and a brother James Dawson Capshaw, Jr.

He is survived by three children, whom he loved with all his heart, Johnathan Michael Capshaw (Kathy), Hannah Michelle Capshaw, and Christian Blake Capshaw, one grandson Michael Scott Capshaw. Mike is also survived by his sisters Patricia Pitts (Johnny), Karen Whitaker, Paula Perry (Hurley), bothers Norman “Pete” Capshaw, and William Capshaw, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and close friends “Bud” and Pam Massey. Mike shared a close relationship with his cousin William Earl Whittington as well.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the First United Methodist Church of Cottondale Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to services.
