Shelby Jean Gay, 69, of Marianna, Florida, went to meet her Lord and Savior on March 8, 2026, at her residence.
Shelby was born on December 30, 1956, in Hollywood, Florida, to the late Julia and Robert Paige. On May 27, 1977, she married the love of her life, Larry David Gay, in Pompano Beach, Florida. Together they shared many loving years before making their home in Cottondale, Florida.
Shelby enjoyed watching Blind the Billionaire, listening to George Strait, singing karaoke, and spending time with her family. She especially loved food and gatherings during the Thanksgiving holiday. Her greatest joy in life was the time she spent surrounded by those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Larry David Gay; her parents, Julia and Robert Paige; her brother, Wayne Paige; and her sisters, Mae Robertson, Teresa Teston, Shirley Paige and Sheila Corbin.
She is survived by her son, William Gay (Kerri) of Marianna, Florida; granddaughters, Destiny and Trinity Commander of Marianna, Florida; her two brothers, David "Bubba" Paige and Kenneth Robertson, Jr.; her sisters, Regina “P-Nut” Seaton (Bill) of Marianna, Florida and Gladys Vaughan (Shannon) of Blackshear, Georgia; her soul sister, Jerroldine Seaton; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Nieces include: Amanda “Panda Bear” Taylor (Rowdy), Tina “Charley” Wooten (Jason) of Chipley, Florida, Payton “Payton Wayton” Seaton, Jennifer Reagin (Robert), Marie Tomberlin (Andy) of Baxley, Georgia, Nikki Evans, and Alicia Seaton of Chipley, Florida.
Nephews include: Tanner “Tanner Wanner” Ming (Bethany) of Cypress, Florida, Jeremy Corbin (Courtney) of Chipley, Florida, Wesley Evans (McKenzie), and Billy Seaton (April) of Altha, Florida. She is also survived by several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, March 13, 2026 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Reverend Tim Faircloth officiating. Interment will follow in Salem Free Will Baptist Church with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service.
Those serving as pallbearers will be: Tanner Ming, Bill Seaton, Jeffrey “JP” Stripling, and Billy Seaton.
