Shawn Goodman Obituary

Shawn David Goodman, passed away December 31, 2024 at the age of 48 in Compass Lake, FL. Shawn was born on July 21, 1976 in Dexter, Missouri.

A graduate of Richland High School in Essex, Missouri, Shawn brought his tireless spirit to his work and community. In 2021, he made the move to Compass Lake, FL, where he continued his work as a general contractor. Shawn was a man of many trades and talents. He had a great passion for riding motorcycles, where many good memories were made with his family, friends, the biker pack he was in and their affiliates. His resilience and strength were also exemplified in his proud service as a disabled war veteran—a chapter of his life that demonstrated his unwavering commitment and patriotism. Shawn operated Amphibious Assault Vehicles during Operation Iraqi Freedom and was a proud (SSgt) Staff Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps.

Shawn's vibrant spirit was most evident in the time he spent with his family, whom he loved dearly. Describing Shawn as simply "handy" would be an understatement. He was not only skilled with his hands, but heartily poured his soul into everything he did. Through his countless endeavors, Shawn left a mark of craftsmanship and integrity that will stand as a testament to his character for years to come.

He was preceded in death by his maternal parents, Herman Goodman and Teresa Worth, and his cherished grandparents, W.H. and Ilene Worth.

Shawn's memory will be forever held in the hearts of his ex-wife, Molly Leija; three sons, Blaine Goodman and his Fiancé, Ariel, Luke Pfefferkorn, and Myles Pfefferkorn; his daughters, Kailey Goodman and Lydia McDonnold and husband, Troey; two brothers, Jesse Goodman and his wife, Mary, and Robert Newman; sisters, Latisha Ivy and her husband, Rex, Heather Annesser and husband, Eric, Susan Moore and husband, Terry, and Brandy Hollingsworth and husband, Jason; his paternal grandmother, Lois Nelson; along with a treasured group of nieces, nephews, and cousins, will also cherish fond memories of Shawn. He was a proud grandfather to four grandchildren: Zamora Gross, Zailey McDonnold, Zayden McDonnold and Zaxton McDonnold.
