Sandra Fay Rushing, passed away peacefully on the morning of March 29, 2025, in Marianna, Florida.
Sandra was born March 4, 1953, in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, to the late Clyde and Myrtle Redmon Singletary. For many years, Sandra served as a Forensic Supervisor for the State of Florida but since her retirement, you could typically find her perusing through an antique store and redecorating her home. She always had such an eye for very unique items.
Sandra's life was one of purpose and passion. She touched numerous lives through her work and personal endeavors. Her presence was a source of stability and strength, and she will be missed dearly by those who had the privilege to know her.
Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Rushing; her parents; her sisters, Linda Singletary Pohlam and Judy Singletary Richardson; and her brother, Ralph Singletary. She was a beloved mother to her three children, Aric Castleberry, Michael Castleberry, and Amanda "Mandy" Edwards. She was a cherished sister to Brenda Price, who, alongside her husband Charles, shared an unbreakable bond with Sandra.
Sandra always vehemently said she wished to not have a funeral or any kind of memorial service. In her words, “I don’t want y’all to make a fuss over me and I sure don’t want anybody feeling sad.” So we’re going to honor her wishes. Instead, she asked for us to remind people to always hug your loved ones and never forget to tell them how much you love them.
Memorialization will be by cremation with Marianna Chapel Funeral.
