Ross Baxter

Ross Baxter, age 88, of Malone, FL, passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at his residence with his family by his side.

Ross was born on December 27, 1935 to the late Lorene and Cola Baxter. A lifelong resident of Malone, Ross attended Malone High School before enlisting in the United States Army. He retired as a Master Sergeant and later took a job at Lehigh Furniture Company where he also retired after 20 years. Ross was a life-long member of Malone Freewill Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for a number of years. He was married to his loving wife, Marianne, for 57 years, and together they created a beautiful family. Ross was proud of all of his family, but especially his grandchildren.     

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Raymond, Ryals and Edward Baxter. 

Ross is survived by his loving wife, Marianne Baxter of Malone, FL; son, Steven Baxter (Laurie) of Malone, FL; grandchildren, Quentin, Holdin, Greyson, Jordan and Joshua Baxter; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. 

Memorialization will be by cremation with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
