Ron Schenck

Roland “Ron” Allen Schenck, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023 at his residence while surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 29, 1942 in Portland, Maine to Augustus and Eunice Schenck.

Ron served three years in the U.S. Army before becoming a Game Warden for the State of Florida. Later, he worked for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) in the State of Florida. He met his loving wife, Theresa, in 1991 and moved to Marianna in 2000 where he overlooked local state parks including Falling Waters, The Florida Caverns, Three Rivers, and Torreya. Ron enjoyed spending time in the outdoors by hunting and fishing in his spare time.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Crystal Oakford; brother, George Schenck and sister, Melody Grice

He leaves behind his loving wife, Theresa Anne; two sons, C.W. (Chasity) of Abingdon, VA and Allen (Mary) of Moab, UT; grandchildren, Macy and Mitchell Oakford; sister, Julie Popick of Wellington, FL; niece, Evelyn Traynom (Richard) of Marianna, FL and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Reverend Gino Mayo officiating. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation following the service.
