Ron Dominy

Ronald "Ron" Edwin Dominy, age 74, of Marianna passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Southeast Hospital in Dothan, AL.

Ron was born June 6, 1948 in Dublin, Georgia to the late William and Edith Dominy. At the age of 19, Ron was drafted into the United States Army and served two years as a Heavy Artillery Coordinator. After serving in the military, Ron became a fireman and worked his way to lieutenant and retired after 26 years. Ron was a member of the Jackson County Optimist Club.  He also enjoyed farming, wood working, and above all, spending time with his grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Linda of 34 loving years, and brothers, Gerald and Wendell Dominy. 

Ron is survived by brothers Thomas and Terry Dominy both of Orlando, FL;  three children, Elizabeth Hartford (Chris Adkins) of Marianna, FL; Forrest Dominy (Amanda) of Mountain City, TN; Christopher Dominy (Jessie Riley) of Marianna, FL; grandchildren, Charles Hartford (Amalia), Jacob Hartford (Morgan), Adrianna Dominy (TJ), Lucas Dominy, Ethan Hartford, Zachary Jenkins, and Emily and Zoey Dominy, as well as one great grandchild, Charleigh Grace Hartford. 

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with James Braxton officiating. The family will receive friends from 9 A.M. - 10 A.M. with funeral services starting at 10 A.M.  Burial will follow at the First Baptist Church Cemetery in Bascom, with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
