Robert "Bob" David Hodges, Sr.

Robert “Bob” David Hodges, Sr. age 89, of Marianna, FL, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Jackson Hospital.

Bob was born on May 1, 1933 to the late Lexie and Joe Hodges. At the young age of 17, Bob enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for two years. After a short sabbatical, Bob then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he served his county for twenty-three years. Bob served in the Vietnam War and the Korean War. After retiring from the Air Force, he became a postal carrier for the United States Postal Service. Bob was a caring man who took great pride in taking care of his loving wife, Clerea, and were married for twenty-two years. He loved antique cars, his country that he fought for, and above all else, he loved being with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Lexie Hodges; the mother of his children, Shirley Hodges; seven brothers and one sister. 

Bob is survived by his wife of twenty-two years, Clerea Hodges; son, Robert D. Hodges, Jr. of Tuscaloosa, AL; step son, Tracy Pettis of Tennessee; daughter, Cynthia Stone of West Monroe, LA; grandchildren, Jonathan, Michael, and Clint Hodges, Tiffany Stone, Alan Stone, Jr., Dillon Pettis and Austin Pettis; as well as eight great grandchildren. 

Funeral services for Bob will be 2 P.M., Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing. 

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 1 P.M. until the time of service at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
