Robert "Bob" Roy Downum

Robert “Bob” Roy Downum age 82 of Marianna passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2019 in Dothan, Al. He had lived in  Marianna since 2004 having moved here from Las Vegas, Nevada. Bob was a retired high school teacher and basket ball coach and had served in the California Air National Guard. He enjoyed working on his 1962 Cadillac convertible and coaching.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents William and Essie Downum and 10 siblings.

Survivors include his wife, Michael Lea Downum of Marianna, daughters Felecia Dorchuck and husband Jerry and Tressa Carpenter and husband Dennis all of Marianna; brother, Thurman Downum of Pacific Grove, California and sister Patsy Rumsey of Moore, Oklahoma. Two grandsons, Robert Carpenter and Damien Carpenter and three great grandchildren Andrew, Catie and Araya Boggini. 

Funeral services will be held on Friday,  August 2, 2019 at 10 a.m. in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with pastor Elton DeSasusa of Dothan officiating.  Interment will follow in Cypress Cemetery.
