Clarence "Robert" Clements, Jr. of Alford, FL, passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at his residence. He was 74 years old.
Robert was born on January 10, 1947 in Compass Lake, FL to the late Clarence Robert Sr. and Gladys Shouppe Clements. He was a lifelong resident of Jackson County, FL and was a longtime employee of Florida Asphalt Paving Company. Robert and his wife, Sue were active in the Marianna Ward for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He had a heart for missions and loved serving and caring for others.
First and foremost, Robert loved his family and having gatherings at the family homestead. He also enjoyed scuba diving the local swimming holes, fishing, and when his siblings would play the guitar and sing for him. He will be sorely missed.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, son, Devin Clements; and four sisters, Mary Helen Clements, Martha Louise Broxton, Sarah Frances Shealey, and Teresa Lajuan.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sue Clements; children, Robert Clements of Alford, FL and Leigh Vandiver of Sheffield, AL; siblings, Carolyn Scott, Laverle Clements and wife, Karen all of Alford, Wanda White and husband, Frank of Enterprise, AL, Wayne Clements, and Aubrey Clements both of Alford; special grand daughter and care takers, Amanda Caldwell along with her husband, Malachi and son, Graeson; grandchildren, Heather Clements, Haven Thomas, April Clements, Brandon Vandiver, Maggie-Ann Vandiver, Trevor White, Matthew Clements, and Cyanna Clements; eight great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services for Robert will be 11 a.m. Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Bishop Mark Sims and Petey Sims officiating. Interment will follow the service in Compass Lake Cemetery with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
