Richard "Ricky" Edward Land

Richard "Ricky" Edward Land, age 67, of Marianna, FL passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Southeast Health in Dothan, AL.

Ricky was born on September 28, 1957 in Marianna, FL to the late James and Edna Land. Ricky was a life-long resident of Jackson County and attended Malone School. Ricky learned the trade of painting and sheetrock from his father and grandfather at a young age, and carried those trades throughout his life. Ricky enjoyed the many years building custom homes for Tatum and Associates. In his free time, Ricky loved to fish on the Chattahoochee River and Christoff Ferry. Ricky was a family man who loved to spend time with his family and grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brother, James Randall Land. 

Ricky is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Mary Land; children, Christy Lee Watkins, James Vickers, Joey Vickers, Randy Land, Brent Land, Dustin Turner, Carrie Labit and fiancé, Marcus McGriff, Marie Labit, Nicole Labit and Sharee Land; sisters, Pay Bray and husband, Donnie, Nancy Meadows and husband, Joey; aunts and uncles, Wayne and  Peggy Aldridge, Clara Bauldree, Norma Bird and Joyce Shouppe as well as 17 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Funeral services will be Monday, January 27, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor LaVon Pettis officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 1 P.M., until the time of service at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.

Those serving as pall bearers will be: Joey Vickers, Tyler Land, Randy Land, Jonathan Quinlin, Joseph Quinlin and Marcus McGriff.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Marianna Chapel Funeral Home to assist with Ricky's funeral expenses.
