Richard "Rick" Martin Murdock

Richard “Rick” Martin Murdock passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024 in Dothan, Alabama.  

Rick was born July 7, 1956 in Alabama and moved to Malone, Florida at an early age. He was a Malone School graduate, class of 1974, before working for Alliance Laundry until retirement in 2006. He loved fishing on the Chipola River and has won many fishing tournaments in his lifetime. He was very proud of his Harley Davidson and also enjoyed watching his Florida State Seminoles. In his last days, he enjoyed any time spent with his grandchildren and special friends, Tim Herring, Ray Jordan, Kelly Cross, and Penny Mott.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Voncille Murdock; brothers, Mark and Michael Murdock; and sisters, Rena Murdock and Kay Folsom.  He is survived by his daughter, Katie Murdock and her sons, Dillion, Sean, Pyper, and Ryder;  and daughter, Brandi Chesnutt and her children, Walker, Richard, and his “favorite” (and only) granddaughter, Janlee Grace. 

A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Marianna Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
