Richard "Dicky" Dennis Bennett, Jr.

Richard 'Dicky' Dennis Bennett, Jr. died on December 6, 2022 at the age of 68. Dicky was born on April 8, 1954 to parents, Richard 'R.D.’ Dennis Bennett, Sr. and Jacqueline Potter in Jackson County, FL. 

Growing up, Dicky participated in Boy Scouts of America, basketball, and 4H and he loved spending time at the beach or outdoors on the farm. He graduated from Marianna High School in 1972 and attended The University Of The South and Chipola College, finishing his studies at Florida Atlantic University before a long career in agriculture. He also served the state of Florida as an english instructor and later a probation officer for the Department of Corrections. Friends and family remember an easygoing disposition, a ready smile, and a limitless of kindness.

Dicky is preceded in death by his parents, R.D. and Jacqueline Bennett, as well as numerous aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his sister, Scarlett Clements of Delray Beach, FL, his children, Ryan Coscia (Al) of Miami, FL, Richard 'Ben' Dennis Bennett, III (Amber) of Bethlehem, PA, Anthony Bennett (Danielle) Jacksonville, FL, and Drew Bennett of Wewahitchka, FL; his grandchildren, Gianna, Gabe, Owen, Amelia, and Arthur. He also leaves behind his uncle, Eddie Potter (Carol) and aunt, Gwendy Ford (John), their children, grandchildren, as well as many cousins.

Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Monday, December 12, 2022 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Baptist Cemetery with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing. 

The family will receive friends from 1 P.M. until the time of service at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
