Ocie L. Garrett

Ocie L. Garrett, age 96, of Sneads, FL peacefully passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at Marianna Health and Rehabilitation.

Ocie was born October 21, 1928 in New Hope, Florida before moving to Sneads where she was a lifelong resident. Ocie had a deep relationship with the Lord and was of the Pentecostal faith. Ocie enjoyed sewing and gardening, was a superb cook and a lover of all animals, especially her chickens. She loved to joke and cut up with others, with a goal in life to have a good time and to love others in the process. Ocie enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and other family and friends, whom will miss her dearly.

Ocie was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Minnie Lee Burnham; sister, Deannie Sheffield; brothers, Owen Burnham, Carl Burnham and Jesse Burnham.

She is survived by her two daughters, Georgia Ann Bohannon of Sneads and Judy Harvell, and husband Curtis of Cottondale; grandchildren, Gene Bohannon and wife, Darlene, Cheryl Parker and husband Dwayne, Donald Bohannon, Chris Bohannon and fiancé, Angie, Travis Harvell, Jason Harvell and the late Cynthia Butler. Ocie is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren, fourteen great great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins as well as her beloved fur baby, Buster.

Funeral services will be 2 P.M., Monday, December 9, 2024 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Reverend Kenneth Bohannon officiating. Interment will follow at Pope Cemetery in Sneads, FL with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing. 

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home. 

Those serving as pallbearers will be: Matthew Smith, Thomas Scott, Gavin McDonald, Chris Kirkland, Jason Harvell and Dustin Bohannon.
