Norris W. McDaniel

Norris W. McDaniel passed away on June 23, 2024, in Marianna, Florida. Born on January 20, 1948, in Donalsonville, Georgia, he was a beacon of knowledge and integrity to all who knew him. 

Norris attended Malone High School, where he graduated in 1966 before marrying, Patricia, the love of his life, in the same year. Norris briefly worked on the family farm after graduation, but it wasn't long before he took a position with Ford Motor Company. His drive and strong work ethic were apparent, and soon, he found his life's career at Flowers Foods where he began as a dedicated route salesman. Norris's commitment to excellence was quickly recognized, leading him to assume increasingly significant roles, culminating in his position as Vice President. In Norris’ free time, he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family whom he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn and Judge McDaniel; son, Michael W. McDaniel; and brothers, Morris Wade McDaniel, Willard McDaniel, and Clifford McDaniel.

Throughout his life, Norris was known for his love and dedication to his family. He was the beloved husband of Patricia McDaniel and the cherished father of Troy McDaniel and his wife, Jennifer; sister, Virginia Young and husband, Thomas; grandchildren, Ashley Marie Kennell and husband, Mark, Michael Norris McDaniel, and Courtney Ware as well as his great-grandson, Wyatt Kennell.

Funeral services will be at 12 P.M., Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Amp Henderson officiating. A private family interment will take place at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery following the service with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing. 

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 11 A.M. until the time of service at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions may be made to Emerald Coast Hospice (3015 Jefferson St Ste C & E, Marianna, FL 32446).
