Nick Kent

Iva Nickelton “Nick” Kent age 85 passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at Signature Healthcare at the Courtyard in Marianna. He was a life long resident of Jackson County and a Christian by faith.  Prior to his retirement he was employed at Golson Elementary in the maintenance department.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Eunyve Kent, his wife of 60 years, Trudy Evangeline Kent; two sons Augus (Andy) Kent and David Kent; great grandson Kyle Lewis Kelley ; and son-in-law Richard Lewis Kelley.

Suvivors include his daughter, Nina Joe Kelley of Marianna; son Eugene Kent of Marianna, two daughter in laws Barbara Kent, Columbus , Ga. And Denise Kent, DeFuniak Springs, FL.; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild and his special hunting and fishing buddies; John “Bubba” and  Pee Wee Bryan and Walter Croft.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Gino Mayo officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery.

A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
