Nellie B. Durden

In loving memory of, Nellie B. Durden, whom went to be with her Lord on September 15, 2024. A lifelong resident of Jackson County, Nellie was a home maker and loved her Lord and family.

Nellie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 30 years, Willard B. Durden; sons, Carlton Durden and Wayne Durden; granddaughter, Christy D. Cook; grandson, Jason D. Snellgrove; great granddaughter, Cheyanne Graham; father, James Brazzell; mother, Mary E. Brazzell; four brothers, Charles, James, Eugene, and William Brazzell.

She is survived by her five children, Linda Durden, Wanda S. Durden, Jeannette D. Cook and husband, Chester, Royce W. Durden and wife, Marion all of Grand Ridge, FL, Joyce D. Snellgrove of Marianna, FL; sisters, Shirley Jackson and family of Tallahassee, FL and Mary Harrison and husband, Grover of Cypress, FL, grandchildren, Chester Cook, Jr., Christopher D. Cook, Joseph A. Cook all of Grand Ridge, FL, Toby G. Shaw and wife, Michelle of Marianna, FL, Bobbie S. Snellgrove of Marianna, FL, Earl T. Snellgrove of Marianna, FL, Marilyn Locaban of Louisiana as well as fifteen great great grandchildren and a host of nephews and nieces.  

The family will receive friends viewing and visitation at Nellies Residence (7313 Birchwood Rd. Grand Ridge, FL 32442) from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. Wednesday, September 18, 2024.

Graveside funeral services will be 1 P.M. Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Shady Grove Cemetery with Reverend Gary Cook officiating and Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.

The family would like to thank VITAS Hospice, Dr. Robin Albritton, Dr. Raul Molina, and Jackson County Fire and Rescue who helped our mother through her going home journey.
