Nancy Elizabeth Gurganus

Nancy Elizabeth Gurganus, age 42, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 21, 2025, with her loving family by her side.

As her husband, I was blessed to be placed back in her life after many years of separation. God granted me the opportunity to spend her last years with her and get to know her son and catch up with the family. The best thing I remember about my wife is her selflessness and outspoken personality. She was loving and caring to all whom she came in contact with and best of all, she was my love.

Nancy was preceded in death by her son, Zackary Barnes.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jasper Gurganus; her children, Justin Barnes and his Fiancée Brianna, Sommer See and her husband Blayton, Allen Gurganus and his Fiancée Megan; parents, Garry Barnes, Sr. and Thelma J. Fortune Barnes; brothers, Gary “Buck” Barnes, Jr. and wife, Manda, Henry “Ricky” Barnes and wife, Amber; along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, April 25, 2025, at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Allen Biggs officiating. Interment will be in the Barnes Family Cemetery with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends for a viewing and visitation from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
