Myrtle M. Lewis, a cherished sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully in Marianna, FL. Born in Jackson County, Myrtle was a beacon of love and kindness to all who knew her.
Myrtle was a homemaker most of her life and found much joy in sewing, cooking, and caring for her family. Her tenderhearted nature made every family gathering a memorable one. She will be remembered fondly for her loving spirit, her kindness, and the comfort she brought to the lives of many. Myrtle's memory will live on in the hearts of all she touched.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, Ara and Charles Monk; her brothers, Charles Monk, Jr., and Willie Monk; her sister, Betty Jean Monk; three husbands, Preston Ellenburg, Sam Ketchum, and Frank Lewis.
She is survived by her brothers, James Monk and wife, Carolyn; sisters, Gladys Milton and Mary Hover, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be 1 P.M., Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Cathy Crider. Interment will be private following the funeral service.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 12 P.M., until the time of service at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
