Maxine (Turner) Smith

Maxine Smith age 83 of Marianna, formerly of Dothan, passed away on Monday, December 02, 2019 in Flowers Hospital.

Maxine was born in Harlan, Kentucky on December 20, 1935 to the late Silas and Mattie Bell (North) Turner. Before moving to Marianna, she resided in Dothan from 2002 to 2017, living most of her life in Chicago. Maxine was retired from Motorola after several years of service. Christmas season was her favorite time of the year. She enjoyed Christmas shopping and giving gifts to make people happy. She loved being around people and fellowshipping, cooking, eating. Most of all Maxine loved her children and grandchildren dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband R. L. Smith, daughter Pamela Lynn, sisters Chusna Turner, Tina Orzula, Lois Feliciano, and Nell Epperson, brothers Eugene Turner, and Roger Turner.

Maxine is survived by one son Mickey Smith and wife Sheila, brother Michael Smith, sisters Hazel Orzula, Nancy Fiebrandt, and Deloris Caldwell, grandchildren Matthew Lynn, Chase Smith, Alyssa Smith, Hannah Smith, Bella Smith, Jonathan Smith, and Logan Smith, one great grandson Lincoln Thomas Smith.

Services for Maxine will be held at 3:00 PM, Friday, December 6, 2019 in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Billy Gene Dickerson officiating. Interment will follow in the Sapp Holiness Cemetery in Cottondale. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
