Matthew "Matt" Allan Deese, age 61, of Marianna, FL passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025 at Tallahassee Memorial.
Matt was born on September 19, 1964 in Jackson County. He graduated from Cottondale High School and attended Chipola Junior College where he pursued an accounting degree. Matt was an extremely hard worker and was employed with Sangree Oil Company and held the manager position for Dollar General. He loved his family and friends more than anything. You would often find Matt encouraging and investing into his grandchildren, whether it was helping with school work or spending quality time together. Matt was an avid Florida State Seminole fan and he will be greatly missed by his family, friends and community.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Deese.
Matt is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Donna Deese of Marianna, FL; his children, Robin Richardson of Rehobeth, AL, Angelia Graham and husband, Bruce of Marianna, FL, Chris Todd and wife, Kelli of Greenwood, FL and Brian Deese of Chipley, FL; mother, Diane Metcalf Deese; brother, Lucky Deese and wife, Carolyn of Panama City, FL; sisters, Wendy Willis and husband, Daniel of Marianna, FL, Reba Hagans and husband, Kevin of Marianna, FL, Nancy Meadows and husband, Joey of Marianna, FL as well as twelve grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be 4:00 P.M., Monday, October 20, 2025 at New Salem Baptist Church with Pastor Joey Woodruff officiating. In Matt's fashion, it is requested to wear casual attire.
The family will receive friends for visitation following the service.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Lambe Family at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
