Lucy N. Pilcher

Lucy N. Pilcher, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2024, in Marianna, Florida. Born on January 16, 1945, in Jackson County, Lucy's life was a testament to her unwavering spirit and the love she shared with those around her.

Lucy was the beloved daughter of Jenkins and Eva Lipford, who preceded her in death, as did her devoted husband, John Pilcher. Her legacy continues through her son, Lance Owens, and his wife, Jennifer; her brother, Jimmy Lipford, and his wife, Irene; her treasured granddaughter, Layla Owens; and the many nieces, nephews, and cousins who were blessed to know her.

A proud alumna of Marianna High School, Lucy's life was characterized by her dedication to her family and her community. She embraced her roles as a caregiver and homemaker with grace and tenacity, always putting the needs of others before her own. Lucy's commitment to her faith was evident through her membership at Northside Baptist Church in Dellwood, where she found strength and fellowship.

Lucy's interests were a reflection of her nurturing nature. She found joy in the simplicity of gardening, tending to her plants with the same care she gave to every aspect of her life. Her love for puzzles mirrored her patience and attention to detail, while her passion for reading the Bible spoke to her deep and abiding faith. Lucy adored her grand-baby, Layla, and would light up whenever she saw her. Her dogs, Little One and Chico, were also a source of comfort and companionship who were always by her side.

Graveside funeral services will be 10 A.M. Saturday, December 28, 2024 at New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing. 

The family will received friends from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service at New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Salem Baptist Church (3478 Kynesville Rd, Marianna, FL 32448).
