Louis "Donny" Don Barwick, Jr.

Louis Don Barwick, Jr., affectionately known as Donny to all who knew and loved him, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2026, in Tallahassee, Florida, at the age of 57. 

An outdoorsman at heart, Donny nurtured an enduring passion for hunting and fishing, thriving in the tranquility and thrills provided by nature. His passion for cooking was a reflection of his talent on the grill and his joy in bringing family and friends together over hearty meals. Of all his interests and accomplishments, nothing brought Donny greater pride than his family.

Donny was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Harriet Smith Barwick; his son, Donell Dalton Barwick; sisters, Donna Elizabeth Wamble and Danae Barwick; as well as his loyal companion, Snoopy. 

He is survived by his devoted wife, Laurie Lynn Barwick; their son, Don Allen Barwick and his wife, Rebecca of Marianna and their daughter, Dawniese “DJ” Barwick, of St. Louis, Missouri; his brothers, Jason Barwick and his wife, Lori of Marianna, and Tony Barwick and his wife, Amy of Southport; grandchildren, Hailey Metzger (17), Carter Littler (16), Cameron Litter (15), Jaxson Gregory (5), Donell Gregory (1), as well as his beloved dog, Jake.

The crown jewel of Donny's life was without a doubt his grandson, Dalton James Barwick (4), who was the very essence of his joy and spirit. Their adventures on side by side rides punctuated many glorious days spent under the open skies, for which Dalton will forever hold dear memories of his grandfather.

Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M., Friday, February 6, 2026 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor James Barwick and Ralph Barwick officiating. 

The family will receive friends for viewing and visitation from 2:00 P.M to 3:00 P.M. at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
