Lisa G. Hertensen

Lisa Gaye Hertensen, age 61, of Malone, FL, joined her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 29, 2022 at her home. 

Lisa was born on July 20, 1961 to Gerald Albert and Jacqueline Ewing in Starke, FL. She was raised in Sarasota, FL where she graduated from Riverview High School, later attending the University of Central Florida where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education. She worked for Walgreens in Sarasota and the surrounding area for 34 years managing many different store locations. Lisa and her husband, Bob, moved to Malone, FL, in 2014 and enjoyed their time together on the family farm taking care of the animals. She worked for the Malone School as a paraprofessional and was a member of the Northeast Jackson County Optimist Club. Lisa was also a member of Friendship Baptist Church and dearly loved her church family whom helped her through her illness. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Albert Ewing and sister, Lee Ann Smith.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Bob “Doc” Hertensen; son, William Hertensen and wife, Amanda of Bascom, FL; mother, Jackie Bisbee; sisters, Susie Binns and husband, Tom, and Karen Bang and husband, Bob all of Sarasota, FL; three grandchildren, Kimber, Harlan, and Jensen Hertensen; a host of nieces and nephews; and special friends, Amanda Whitfield and Deelayna Scarborough.

Funeral services will be 2p.m. Friday, August 5, 2022 at Friendship Baptist Church with Reverend Danny Sumerlin officiating. Interment will be in the Smith - Cook Family Cemetery, 5041 Liberty Hill Rd. Bascom, FL 32423 with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
