Linda Hewett Obituary

Linda Kay Hewett, 79, of Bascom, Florida, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on August 25, 2025. She was born on February 7, 1946, and lived a life full of love, faith, and devotion to her family and community.

A faithful member of Circle Hill Baptist Church, Linda’s voice could often be heard lifting in song as she praised the Lord. She found great joy in fellowshipping with her church family and serving wherever she was needed.

Linda worked at Russell’s, the Bascom Post Office, and later with Pride at ACI, where she built lasting friendships and touched many lives with her kindness and warm spirit.

Above all, Linda’s greatest joy was her family. She married the love of her life, Laurie Nick Hewett, and together they shared over 60 years of marriage filled with laughter, memories, and unwavering love. Their union was blessed with a beautiful family that became the center of her world. Linda devoted her life to caring for her loved ones, always offering a listening ear, gentle guidance, and endless support.

In addition to her devotion to family and church, Linda enjoyed spending time outdoors. She loved fishing—always proud to catch the most fish—and found peace in tending to her garden, where she grew vegetables with care and joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ruth Winget, and her son, Jason Hewett.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Laurie Nick Hewett; her children, Dennis Hewett (Kimberly) of Dothan, AL, and Kelly Hewett (Cindy) of Bascom, FL; her cherished grandchildren, Cody Hewett, Emily Hewett (DJ), Amber Edwards (Austin) Kirsten Hewett, Kaylee Long (Lance), Sarah Hewett, Tyler Blayne Hewett, and Cole Hewett; and her precious great-grandchildren, Everleigh Edwards, Weston Colson and Stella Kay Koopman. She is also survived by her siblings Hilda Thompson (Dallas), Tony Winget, and Sue Lawrence (Harry).

Linda will be remembered for her sweet spirit, her love for singing hymns, her fishing adventures, her thriving garden, and the way she made everyone around her feel cherished. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
