Lawrence "Larry" James Mangett, age 78, of Marianna, Fl passed away at home on August 23, 2023.
Larry was born April 30, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Phyliss Elizabeth Firth. Larry moved to Florida as a young adult after serving in the 101st Airborne Division as a Paratrooper in the Vietnam War. After years working as a telephone splicer and installation technician, he went on to build a successful uniform sales business in Winter Haven, Florida.
Larry loved hunting and fishing and could often be heard telling stories of the big one that got away.
He is survived by his brother, David; sister, Pamela Brazeau; three sons, Bradley, Adam and Anthony; one daughter, Melissa Damelio and four grandchildren. He is also survived by dear friends Irvin and Roberta Jennison and their children, Robert and Marylou, whom he thought of as chosen family.
No public services are planned at this time. Marianna Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
