Kayren Green Vickery, age 66, of Marianna, FL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 with her loving family by her side.
Kayren was born February 21, 1958 in Louisville, Kentucky to William and Gail Green. Kayren moved to Oakdale, Louisiana where she graduated from Oakdale High School before moving to Marianna. She later attended Troy University. Kayren was an educator for the Jackson County School Board for 13 years and then retired from the Jackson County Health Department after working for 10 years in the Healthy Start and WIC Departments. She also cherished her role as the youth director at the First United Methodist Church of Marianna for many years. Kayren loved her family and grandchildren dearly. She also enjoyed cooking and was an animal lover. She truly enjoyed serving her family, friends and church congregation. She is now at peace with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Mark Vickery.
Kayren is survived by her son, Jake Vickery and wife, Laura of Marianna; daughter, Kerry Tillman and husband, Brad of Tallahassee; brothers, Ernest Green (Susan) of West Monroe, LA, Lawson Green (Teresa) of Oakdale, LA, Billy Green (Tammi) of Fort Worth, TX; sister, Brenda Green of Oakdale, LA; grandchildren, Owen, Audriana, Gabe and Tate.
A memorial service will be 11 A.M., Saturday, October 19, 2024 at the First United Methodist Church in Marianna with Reverend Dr. Nathan Attwood officiating.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation, beginning at 10 A.M., in the Wesley Center at the First United Methodist Church. Marianna Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
