John Jessie Riley, Sr.

John Jessie Riley, Sr., age 61, of Chipley, FL passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2024 at his daughter's home in Marianna.

John was born on February 11, 1963 in Bartow, FL and was the son of the late Pharoah and Maxine Riley. John attended Grand Ridge High School and soon after, began a career in farming. John was also very talented with tile work, fabrication and other construction task, where he spent 17 years employed with KNJ Construction building pole barns and metal buildings. John was an amazing father and a very hard worker. He also loved fishing and the Florida Gators. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ronald Riley; and sister, Cristine Hagan.

John is survived by his wife, Gracie Riley; son, John Riley, Jr.; daughter, Angela Wasson and husband, Lance, Mavis Lopez and husband, Julio; brothers, Paul Riley and wife, Brenda, Robert Riley and wife, Brittany, Jimmy Riley and wife, Laurie; sister, Geraldine Toney and husband, Bret; eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and extended family including David and Mable Alday. 

Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Friday, November 1, 2024 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Reverends Eva Howell and Gino Mayo officiating. Interment will follow in Welcome Assembly of God Church Cemetery in Dellwood, FL with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing. 

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 1 P.M. until the time of service at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
