Jimmie Everett Woods, entered into the gates of heaven on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, while surrounded by his loving family.
Jimmie was born on May 25, 1943, in Elloree, South Carolina, and soon after, moved to Compass Lake, FL where he lived on the family homestead. Jimmie was a proud war veteran, and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Emerging as a true "Jimmie of all trades," he earned great respect and admiration in his work. His skills as a mechanic and truck driver were unrivaled, and his hard work and integrity was evident to all who knew him.
Jimmie's love for life was anchored in the simple pleasures of his roots. His entrustment of the family homestead, the maintenance of the fish ponds, and his joy in patrolling the Hill were sources of immense pride. Jimmie loved his Lord Jesus and is now resting in the presence of the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Robert and Gertrude Freeman Woods, as well as his brothers, Elbert and Clint Woods.
He is survived by his son, Eric Woods and wife, Angie of Graceville, FL; two daughters, Angel Davis and Husband Sven of Compass Lake, FL, Becky Woods of Temple, Texas; brother, Edward Woods and wife, Linda of Furman, Alabama; sister, Joann Cutchins and husband, David of Compass Lake; grandchildren, Alan (Sarah), Erik (Kassi), Lauren, Marissa(Corbin), Ashley(Randy), Matthew, and Collin; great grandchildren, Taylor, Joanie (Dylan), Kiley (Carter), Sarah, Reis, Haylee, Ava Rose, Anna, Lucien, James,and Charlie; great great grandchildren, Miles, Brooklynn, Caden,Oakleigh, and Summer along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service will be 2 P.M. April 13, 2025 at the Woods-Freeman Cemetery with Sven Davis officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Army Honor Guard. Marianna Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
The family will gather with everyone at The Barn @ 57 immediately following the service.
