Jessie Carolyn Richardson

Jessie Carolyn Foy Richardson, born September 16, 1936 and passed away on September 28, 2023 at Jackson Hospital. 

Carolyn was born to Gladys and Adrian Foy in Campbellton, Florida, where she graduated from Campbellton High School. She married Charles Richardson in June, 1954, and they made their home in Marianna, Florida. During her lifetime, Carolyn worked in the offices at Sealtest Dairy, Graham Air Force Base and Dozier School for Boys. The job she loved most was at Dot's Tots Kindergarten with her sister, Dot West, where she loved and nurtured children for over 20 years.

Carolyn was Baptist by faith, and during her lifetime belonged to both Trinity Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Marianna. Before her illness in 2011, Carolyn loved to travel, and all you had to do was crank the car and she would hop in. She was always up for an adventure!

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Charles Richardson; sisters, Dot West and Johnnie Ruth Norsworthy; brothers, Robert Foy, Joe Foy and Jiggs Foy.  

She is survived by her daughters, Renee Willoughby (Tom) of Blairsville, Georgia, and Gina Morris (Bennett) of Collierville, Tennessee as well as grandchildren, Jack W. Carlson, III (Maureen), Kyndall Moore (Tommy), Ryan Willoughby (Kristie), Ryan Smith (Emma), and great-grandchildren, Alexis Carlson, Jack W. Carlson, IV., Madilynn Willoughby, Jay Thomas Willoughby, Lila Smith, Aiden Smith and Evie Smith.

Funeral services will be 2 P.M., Sunday, October 1, 2023 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Reverend Addis Habbard officiating. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.  

The family will receive friends from 1 P.M. until the time of service at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
