Jason O’Neal Hewett, 48, of Bascom, FL passed away Monday, December 9, 2024 at Jackson Hospital.
He was a graduate of Malone School and started his career with the State of Florida DOC shortly after graduation. He worked as a painter in the family business from the age of 16 until present.
He was a loving son, brother, father and grandfather. In his younger years, he enjoyed his son’s recreational baseball teams and he supported his daughter’s softball and cheering endeavors. He loved to be on the water, fishing and hunting. In his most recent years, he enjoyed spending quality time with his grandson.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Thomas Benjamin and Eva Mae Hewett; maternal grandparents, Robert Jefferson and Mamie Ruth Winget.
He is survived by his children, Kirsten Hewett, Kaylee Long (Lance), Blayne Hewett, and their mother, Melissa Hewett; one grandchild, Weston Colson; his parents, Nick and Linda Hewett; two brothers, Dennis Hewett (Kimberly) and Kelly Hewett (Cindy); along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his special friend, Heather Brown.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 5 P.M to 7 P.M. Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be 11 A.M. Friday, December 13, 2024 at Circle Hill Baptist Church (7170 Circle Hill RD, Sneads, FL 32460) with Reverend Bill Mayo officiating. Interment will follow in Circle Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Marianna Chapel Funeral Home to help with Jason's funeral expenses.
