Gwendolyn (Cone) Anderson

Gwendolyn Cone Anderson, age 77, passed away on April 23, 2020.  She was born on September 6, 1942 in Marianna, FL to the late J.P. and Jewel Cone of Cottondale, FL.

Gwen is survived by her husband, Sherwin P. Anderson (Andy), Marianna; two children, William Rose, Odessa, FL and Jessica Brack, Chapel Hill, NC; five grandchildren, Tyler Rose, Emily Rose Almeida, Abigail Rose, Kathryn Brack, and Samantha Brack; two brothers, J.P. Cone, Jr., Hermitage, TN and Wayne Cone, Cypress, TX.

In 1987, Gwen returned to live in Jackson County and worked as a county school psychologist until she retired in 2005.  In her retirement years, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, playing in her weekly canasta group, trying new recipes, and traveling by car with Andy to see friends and family. Gwen was a gracious host, a real southern lady, and a trusted source for guidance.

In consideration of community health and public safety due to the COVID 19 Virus, a private family graveside service will be held at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Backpack for Kids-Jackson County to honor Gwen and her lifelong commitment to education and children.  Donations can be mailed to: Backpack for Kids-Jackson County, FL Inc., PO Box 857, Marianna, FL 32447.
