Obituary
Gloria "Gale" Baxley, age 74, of Marianna, FL, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Southeast Health Medical Center.
Gale was born on June 23, 1948 in Cottondale, FL to the late Radford and Bloomie McNeese. For many years, Gale worked at Russel’s Sewing Factory and Golson Elementary. After a multiple sclerosis diagnosis, Gale retired and enjoyed cooking fish with family and friends, camping at the beach, traveling to new places, decorating for Christmas, pigs, and above all, spending time with her beloved family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jerry Brannon of Georgia; and mother and father in-law, Johnny B. Baxley and Marie Baxley.
Gale is survived by her husband of 42 years, Johnny Wayne Baxley of Marianna, FL; children, Ted Burdeshaw, II and wife, Barbie of Marianna, FL, Crystal Spears and husband, Michael of Clinton, IA, Michael Baxley of Tallahassee, FL; sister, Jill Castleberry of Marianna, FL; grandchildren, Cole Burdeshaw, Brie Millwood, Lane Millwood, Hailee Baxley, Kage Spears, and Lola Spears. Survivors also include brother in-law, Billy Baxley and wife, Janet of Marianna, FL; sister in-laws, Barbara Kent of Columbus, GA and Kathy Baxley of Marianna, FL along with her cousin, Linda Johnson of Cottondale, FL.
A private family service will be held at a later date with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to any multiple sclerosis foundation of your choice.
