Glenda Nell Cogburn, age 68, of Crestview, Florida passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at North Okaloosa Medical Center.
Our mother’s love was the foundation of our family and her kindness left a mark on everyone she met. While her absence leaves a tremendous void in our hearts, her legacy of love, strength, and generosity will continue to guide us every day.
Glenda spent most of her working years as a Post Master Relief at the Alford Post Office. A role that reflected her desire to always be there for others. She found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life. Some of Glenda’s favorite memories came from her supporting her husband, David, at the racetrack while creating memories with family and friends. She also enjoyed the slow and relaxing days of being at Round Lake soaking in the sun and memories that came along with that. Above all, she loved her family deeply. Her greatest accomplishments were supporting her husband, raising her children and being present in the lives of all her family and friends.
Glenda was preceded in death by her husband, David Cogburn; her parents, James and Gladys Fortune; sisters, Linda Benefield and Kathy Hamm; brothers in law, Alfred Gay and David Mathis; and great-grandchild, Abby Rose Dildy.
Glenda is survived by her son, Dillon Cogburn of Crestview, FL; daughters, Christy Cogburn of Laurell Hill, FL and Amanda Dildy and her husband, Doug of Crestview, FL; son-in-law, Pete Perez of Crestview, FL; sisters, Debbie Gay of Round Lake, FL, Rene Mathis of Alford, FL, Thelma Barnes and her husband, Garry of Round Lake, FL and Dottie Acosta and her husband, Jim of Vidalia, GA, brother in-law, Carol Benefield of Cottondale, FL; grandchildren, Lucas Perez, Ben Perez, Cody Perez, Kristen Perez, Trenton Stepp, Mason Stepp, Lee Dildy, Brittany Dildy and Aiden Cogburn; great grandchildren, Samantha Perez, Jason Perez, Mitchell Dildy, Connor Dildy, Roman Dildy, Vereena Stepp, Memphis Woods and River Locke.
