Gladys Foran Hill

Gladys Foran Hill, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at home.

Gladys was born on December 13,1933, to J.S. and Rebecca Foran in Jackson County, FL. She married the love of her life, Carlos, in 1952 and were married for a total of 70 years. Gladys was a wonderful cook and enjoyed cooking for family and church functions. She was well known for her biscuits and coconut cream pies. Gladys worked for over 25 years for Jackson County School Board. She loved children and taught the two year old Sunday School class at First Baptist Church for 40 years.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Hester Peacock and Juanita Carpenter; brothers, Everett, Willie, Willis, Ecker, Bill, George and Harrell Foran.

She is survived by her husband, Carlos Hill; children, Linda Davis, Larry Hill (Ramona), Sandra Hill (Michelle); grandchildren, Jeremy Hill (Jessica), Stephanie Davis, Jonathan Hill and Stephen Davis; great grandchildren, Mason and Colton Hill, Kinsley Davis, Grey Davis and James Davis; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Sunday, June 25, 2023 at the First Baptist Church of Marianna with Reverend Vince Smith officiating and Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 3 p.m. until the time of service at the First Baptist Church.

Interment will be private in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Nursery Renovation at 4405 Clinton St. Marianna, FL 32446.
