Gaylord Pfister

Gaylord Francis Pfister, age 93, of Marianna, FL, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2022 at Jackson Hospital.
 

Gaylord was born to George and Lida Anthony Pfister at the family home on Coffeen Street in Watertown, New York.   Gaylord’s love for the beach and ocean led him to move from Watertown to Florida in the 50s, where he lived the rest of his life.   He was a holder of many talents including racing cars, playing football, photography, and sharing a good joke. He was also a respected house painter. We truly believe that when he noticed the Pearly Gates needed a touch up, he offered to paint them if the Lord provided the paint.  To know him was to love him.
 

Gaylord was preceded by his siblings, Veronica O’Hara, Ruth Dyer, Betty Cronk, Colleen Sherman, Robert Pfister, George Pfister and Maurice (Mo) Pfister.
 

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Pfister; four sons, Peter, Gaylord (Mike), David, and Brant; six daughters, Terry, Michelle, Chivon, Rebecca, Rachel and Samantha; as well as a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family that he adored.  
 

Memorialization will be by cremation with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
