Frances Brock

Elma Kaye “Frances” Brock of Alford, FL, passed away on August 4, 2022, at her home while surrounded by those she loved. Frances was born on July 16,1945 to Joe William Brock and Lula Barnes Brock. 

She was a graduate of Cottondale High School and was a lifelong member of Salem Freewill Baptist Church. 

It cannot go unsaid that there is a very special group of people that ensured that Frances was able to have what she most wanted – to go home.  Without the loving care of Maria Barnes, Isabell Barnes and Kathy Mayo Noblin, her greatest wish could not have been granted. To all of you who called, visited, and made her feel so loved – THANK YOU!  Frances loved all of you so much! There are no words to tell you what you mean to our family, and we will be forever grateful for ALL that each of you did.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Lula Brock.

She is survived by her sister, Thelma Brock Shores; nephews, Larry Shores (Mary Lynn) of Orlando, Pete Shores (Sara) of Pensacola, Kevin Shores (Brenda) of Orlando; and niece, Kaye Shores Sears of Gulf Breeze. She has seven great nieces and nephews, five great-great nieces and nephews and cousins galore. Her friends were so important to her and she loved them dearly.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Salem Freewill Baptist Church with Reverend Donnie Hussey officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

Those serving as pallbearers will be Gavin Parmley, Tyler Scott, Donny Barnes, Parker Barnes, Cody Blackmon and Greg Barnes. Honorary bearers will be The Ladies Auxiliary of Salem Freewill Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital to help children who have cancer.
