Fostine Daffin, age 81, of Marianna, FL passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Fostine was born in Mobile, AL on February 12, 1944. She was a member of the Pilgrim Rest Assembly of God in Marianna, FL and she loved the Lord with her entire heart. She served the Lord faithfully for many years at her church, from teaching children's Sunday School to enjoying time in the ladies' group.
Her children, grandchildren and family, were a vital part of her life and she was very proud and loved them dearly. In Fostine's working career, she was a caregiver at the Marianna Convalescent Center for numerous years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel Moseley and John Moseley; brothers, Donnie Ray Moseley, Robert Lee Moseley, James Clarence Moseley; twin sister, Christine McDonald; sister, Maggie Louise Johnson; step daughter, Kathy McGinty; granddaughter, Lynda (Lenny) Michelle Williams; great granddaughters, Brooke Haire and Aubrey Haire; as well as a special aunt, Louise McRee and husband, of 27 years, William Robert Daffin.
Fostine is survived by her daughters, Janet Louise Whelchel Padgett and husband, Chuck of Marianna, FL, Arnita Marie Whelchel of Marianna, FL; step daughter, Sarah Whelchel Smith and husband, Bruce of Greer, South Carolina, Tammy Carter and husband, Dennis of North Charleston, SC, Rita Williams and husband, Phil of Marianna, FL, Rene Lipford of Marianna, FL; step son, Gene Whelchel and wife, Missy of Johanna, SC; brother, Thomas Moseley and wife, Rea of Whitehouse, TX, Johnny Wayne Moseley of Houston, TX; grandchildren, April, Jessica (Anthony), Christina (Matt), Hilary, Cristen (Dustin), Stephanie, Matthew; great grandchildren, Reagan, Tyson, Sofia, Kash, Julianna, Connor, Angel, Mason, Addy, Titus, Charlie, Lexi, and Blake; special great grandchildren, Harmony, Laura and Sebasian; special cousin, Patricia McRee; special niece, Teressa Pridmore; special sister in-law and caregiver, Sheba Bennett as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be 2 P.M., Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Ben Peters officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service at Sink Creek Cemetery with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 1 P.M., until the time of service at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
