Eunice Lee Chance

Eunice Lee Chance, 88 years of age, left us to be with her heavenly father on Wednesday, August 10, 2022. 

She was born in Calhoun County on March 17, 1934 (St.Patrick's Day) to her father, J.J. Melvin and mother, Lula Lee Melvin. Eunice resided in Jackson County for the majority of her life. She worked as a seamstress at the Warner Brothers sewing factory for 16 years and as a Caregiver to the elderly for a majority of her life. Eunice loved her church family at Marvin Chapel Free Will Baptist Church and was a dedicated member. She also cared for all animals, especially her cats, and made sure that they were taken care of. 

Eunice was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Houston Chance and her son, Jerry Lynn Chance.

She is survived by her son, Wallace Earl Chance of Marianna Florida; grandson, Lucas Creed Chance and wife, Starla Gail Chance of Marianna, Florida; two great grandchildren, Ayrabelle Wren Chance and Duncan Rayne Chance; and special friend, Marilyn Ackerman.

 Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Reverend Irvin Jennison officiating. Interment will follow in Hasty Pond Church Cemetery with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of service at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
