Elmarie Pickels

Ms. Elmarie Pickels, age 89, of Forks of the Creek, FL, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2022 at her residence.

Her love was a superpower. It was infinite in measure, and had no respect of person. She loved like Jesus, and wanted everyone to try and do the same. Surround her with family, and she was happy.  That’s all she really ever asked for. She led a simple life, and simple things made her happy. 

She loved her family no doubt, but she loved her Lord even more. She’s home now, and she’s at peace.  

Elmarie was a member in good standing at Friendship Baptist Church in Malone, FL for twenty years.  She was a member of the WMM group and worked in various areas of the church to help anywhere she could.  She will be missed by everyone who knew her. 

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Dan C. Gray and Lonice Gray; her son, Gary Pickels; brother, Stewart Floyd; and sister, Helen Barnes.

She is survived by her son, Mike Pickels and wife, Heidi of Forks of the Creek; daughters, Vicky Hensley of Ruskin, FL, Rhonda Kelley and husband, Vaughn of Ellijay, GA, Rorri North and husband, Bobby of Box Springs, FL; one brother, Rex Floyd and wife, Patty of Panama City; daughter-in-law, Terry Pickels of Malone, FL; grandchildren, Jessica Gulley, Kyle Pickels and wife, Savannah, Annie, Tess and Abigail Pickels, Christopher Hensley, Mason Hensley and wife April, Lanie Adan and husband, Kevin, Dylan Kelley and fiancé Carly, Gary North, Travis Pickels and wife, Hannah, Thomas Pickels and wife, Lauren; 24 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be 10 A.M. Monday, November 21, 2022 at Friendship Baptist Church in Malone, FL with Brother Vaughn Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M. Sunday, November 20, 2022 at Friendship Baptist Church.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Friendship Baptist Church.
