Earl Ray Barnes, Jr.

Earl Ray “John” Barnes, Jr., age 40, of the Round Lake Community, passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at his residence.

John was born in Marianna, FL, on November 3, 1980 to the late Earl Ray, Sr. and Lydia Stephens. A lifelong resident of Jackson County, John worked many years for Tindall Construction as well with his special friend, Fred Watson. John was of the Baptist faith and was known for having a big heart. He loved lending a helping hand to anyone that was in need. John enjoyed being in the outdoors, spending time with his dog, Blue, and above all else, loving on his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

John is survived by his wife, Bonnie Barnes of Round Lake, FL; step-children, Aaron Sawyer of Marianna, Savanna Turner (Matthew) of Wausau, FL, and Timothy Summerlin of Marianna; sisters, Stacy Williams (Bear) of Round Lake, FL and Rae Mclean (James) of Ponce De Leon, FL; seven grandchildren, Jade, Keelie, and Jessylyn Sawyer, Christopher and Skyler Summerlin, Presley Burns, and Skyanna Turner; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 o’clock Monday, June 21, 2021 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Williams Family Cemetery in Alford, FL with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 1 o’clock until the time of service at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
