Douglas Hershberger Obituary

Douglas Kent Hershberger, 77 passed away from this earth to join his wife Joanne in Heaven on April 23, 2020. Doug was born on September 10, 1942 in Elkhart, Indiana to the late Eli and Harriett Hershberger.

He moved his family to Jackson County in 1975. For the past 26 years, Doug owned and operated Amy’s Auto alongside his daughter, Amy. He attended Rivertown Community Church and was of the Baptist Faith. Doug was a caring, humble man with a desire to share the love of Jesus with others. He passionately loved his children and grandchildren and his pride in them was widely known.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 49 years, Joanne Hershberger.

Doug is survived by four daughters, Amy Sue Smith (Rolf) Marianna, Fl; Kimberly Anne Reams, (Walter), Tallahassee: Shelly Rene’ Lavigne, Largo, Fl; Gena Dawn Cummings, Middleburg, Fl; 14 Grandchildren and 23 Great grandchildren.

In consideration of community health and public safety due to the COVID 19 Virus, a private family graveside service will be held will at Lipford Cemetery.

The family request that flowers be omitted and donations be made in his memory to Rivertown Community Church (4534 Lafayette St, Marianna, FL 32446) or Covenant Care (4540 Lafayette Street, Ste G, Marianna, FL 32446).
