Dorothy Owens Emanuel

Dorothy Owens Emanuel, age 79, peacefully passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024. 

Dorothy was born in Chattahoochee, Florida to the late John Leroy and Sallie McCroan Owens before moving to Marianna where she was a lifelong resident. She worked many jobs throughout her life, with one of her favorites being a waitress at Tonys Restaurant and the 76 Truck Stop. Dorothy met her husband, Wiggins Lee Emanuel, in 1987, and they were married for 37 wonderful years. She was not only the most wonderful wife, but a strong and loving mother to her children. She will be greatly missed by those who loved her.  

Dorothy is survived by her husband, W. L. Emanuel; daughters, Faye Hammett and husband, Wayne, Kris Shores, Ann Smith and husband, Vince; four sons, Michael Shores and wife, Joanna, Donny Emanuel and wife, Beth, Edward Emanuel and wife, Michelle, Michael Emanuel and wife, Robin; along with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 10 A.M. Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, Chapel of the Pines, with Reverend Gary Gable officiating. Entombment will follow in Chapel of the Pines Mausoleum with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.
