Donnie Lamar Stone

Donnie Lamar Stone, age 74, of Marianna, FL, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Southeast Medical Center. 

Lamar was born in Altha, FL on September 25, 1950 to the late Frances and Charles Stone. Lamar was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a loyal and dedicated employee of the Altha Farmers Co-Op for over 40 years, retiring as manager in 2018. He enjoyed his cars, dove hunting, grilling, walking on the beach, and above all, spending time with his family who he loved dearly. Lamar was a loving and dedicated husband, father, and friend. He was known for his generosity and having a servant’s heart. After retirement, he spent time visiting and caring for family, friends and neighbors.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert Stone, Earl Stone, Aubrey Stone, George Stone, Jesse Stone, Henry Stone, Lonnie Stone and Joseph Stone; sisters, Frances Stone, Loienna Stone, Thelma Stone, Loma Stone and Christine Stone. 

Lamar is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Mary Stone of Marianna, FL; daughter, Emily Stone and fiancé, John Brunner; brothers, Dowling Stone of Clarksville, FL, Frank Stone and wife, Catherine of Altha, FL; sister, Margie Clemmons and husband, Earl of Altha, FL; sister-in-law, Joann Stone and husband, Robert of Sneads, FL; god daughter, Alexandria Hencely as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Funeral services will be 2 P.M., Thursday, October 10, 2024 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Marianna, FL with Petey Sims officiating. Interment will follow in the Sink Creek Cemetery with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing. 

The family will receive friends from 1 P.M. until the time of service at the church.
