Donald "Don" Eugene Merrifield

Donald "Don" Eugene Merrifield, age 73, a longtime resident of Marianna, FL and Paxton, FL, passed away at his brothers home on Thursday, June 19, 2025, with his family by his side.

Don was born February 8, 1952 in Pontiac, Illinois to the late Eugene and Evelyn Duncan Merrifield. Don received much fulfillment from ranching, caring for cattle and horses, fishing and golfing. He was an amazing story teller and had a memory for every occasion. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him. 

He is survived by his two sons, Scott Merrifield and wife, Kizzie and Bobby Merrifield; brothers, Jim Merrifield and wife, Charlene and Fred Merrifield; sister, Jackie Pelt and husband, Alan; grandson, David Merrifield; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Emerald Coast Hospice.

No services are planned at this time. Memorialization will be by cremation. Arrangements are entrusted to the Lambe Family at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
