Don McGuire

Horace “Don” McGuire age 73 of Malone passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Jackson Hospital. He was born in Savannah, Georgia on February 18, 1945 and had been a resident of Jackson County since 1984. Don served in the Vietnam War as an United States Marine. He was a horse trainer and saddle maker by trade. Don spent many years competing in rodeo events, riding horses, and teaching people about proper horsemanship. He was of the Church of Christ faith.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Horace H. and Margaret McGuire.; one son, Mark McGuire. He is survived by his loving wife thirty-six years, Maggie Faye McGuire; children, Will McGuire, Shawnee McGuire, Jennifer Reese, and Jonathan Williams; siblings, Eddie McGuire, Lee Smith, Chris McGuire, and a host of grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 20, 2018 in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
