David Randall Martin

David "Dave" Randall Martin, age 63, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at his home with his loving wife, Debra by his side.

Dave was born September 28, 1959 in Stuttgart, Germany while his father was stationed there in the U.S. Army. The family later moved to Monroe, Michigan where Dave graduated high school and pursued a career as a welder. He worked for Allen Industrial Maintenance and was a professional welder for 17 years. Dave and his wife, Debra, retired and moved to Jackson County where they donated much time at the Falling Waters State Park. Dave’s footprint is known all over the park as he helped with many projects and maintenance that needed to be done. His favorite hobby is collecting and driving his RC cars. Dave will be deeply missed by his family, friends and fellow state park volunteers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Joanne Smith Martin; son, Greg Martin; brother, Bryan Martin; and sister, Cricket Martin.

Dave leaves behind his loving wife, Debra; children, Kelly Davis and husband, Chandler of Marion, OH, Shawn Coakley and wife, Malissa of Henderson, NV, Todd Coakley, Jr. and wife, Jodi of Columbus, OH; brothers, Ron Blury and wife, Deb of Palm Coast, FL, Steve Martin and wife, Nancy of Ann Harbour, MI; sisters, Barb Ambs and husband, Tom of Portland, MI and Sandy Krueger and husband, Doug of Deerfield, MI; grandchildren, Emmie, Tripp, Astro, Alex, Joey, Savannah and Luke; as well as his daughter-in-law, Megan Renee.

A celebration of life service will be 1 P.M. Sunday, February 19, 2023 at the Falling Waters State Park with Chaplain Gino Mayo officiating. A memorial will also be February 25, 2023 in Ohio with the time and place to be determined at a later date.

Memorialization will be by cremation with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
